~Kelly Elveluzen 6.Jan.04 07:27 PM a Web browser Domino Server All Releases Windows 2000
I'm working for a small organization and we have just one Domino server. Our ISP now requires us to send outbound e-mail via their SMTP server. Unfortunately, they require a username and password to authenticate with their server, and Domino 6 does not support this.
As a workaround, I've considered using the native SMTP service on my Windows 2000 server (the Domino server) as a relay.
So the setup I envision has Domino receiving e-mail directly, but sending it to the Win2k SMTP service, which will authenticate via Windows authentication. The Win2k SMTP service will then connect to the ISP SMTP server, authenticate, and forward the e-mails.
Has anyone tried anything like this -- or any other solutions?
